How Does Energetic Visualization Compare to Creative Visualization?

Creative visualization is the technique of using your imagination to create what you want in your life.

Energetic visualization is a series of techniques to gain insight, clarity, and awareness of your spiritual truth. It can be used to understand and integrate your transformative experiences, set the energy for what you want to create, or explore the potentiality of an energy space that you want to create and connect with.

Energetic visualization practices strengthen and deepen your inner communication – the communication between your inner self and conscious self.

Like creative visualization, energetic visualization engages your innate abilities to explore, discover, and gain insight. It provides a focused, conscious way of accessing information that is central to your wellbeing, creativity, and bringing your true genius into the world.

The main difference between creative visualization and energetic visualization, is that energetic visualization operates more at an abstract level. With energetic visualization, you focus on the qualities, characteristics, and dimensions of the energy that you want to create, explore, and experience. Whereas, with creative visualization, you are more focused on the physical aspects of an idealized environment, space, or setting.

Some of the most important learning from Kathryn’s class was that I now think of my own energy and it’s management in much more concrete concepts (colors, shapes, waves, particles, movement, etc.) My concepts were previously much more amorphous. These “visually” concrete concepts work well for me because I am a visual processor, as well as a kinesthetic.
